Morganite is sometimes referred to as the love stone. Morganite’s
rosy blush color suggests romance. The gem resembles natural pink diamonds
but costs considerably less than a diamond of any hue.
From pale, sparkling champagne to rich deep, rich cognac the family of
natural fancy colored brown diamonds is luscious and unique. Some
colored diamonds are enhanced by an irradiation process which mimics
that of nature, but natural, untreated fancy colored diamonds are the
most desirable and expensive.
In addition to being a beautiful
gem, amber has become a scientific source material, truly a golden
window on the past giving us a glimpse into a world that is millions of
years old. Amber is the fossilized sap exuded from a species of extinct
pine trees. It is thanks to amber that traces of life that flourished in
primeval forests have been preserved until today.
The current
interest in Mid-20th Century furniture has spawned a renewed interest
in American ceramics of the post World War II era. Brand names such as
Russel Wright, Bauer, McCoy and Red Wing are as avidly collected as the
furniture of Eames, Saaarinen or Noguchi. It is hardly surprising, since
the sculptural forms and unusual colors complement the elemental
designs of Mid-Century furnishings so well.
